A Kirtland's Warbler and Other Spring Birds

I love spring migration! To the surprise and delight of birders and nature photographers, a rare bird, the Kirtland's Warbler, visited Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary in Chicago for two days in May.

Below are a series of photographs taken during the 2015 spring season.

These photos are spectacular! I am so jealous of the beautiful birds you can capture in your neck of the woods. Metro Vancouver is a great place to do birding, but we lack some of the more spectacular warblers and finches seen east of the Rockies.

Julie, I need to learn from you. One of the most difficult birds for me to photograph are the warblers. I think they are such pretty birds but they are so difficult. These pics are sharp and wonderful! The Kirtland's is a real treat! Congrats!
